I love highlight, like so so much, its honestly my favourite part of my make up, so I’ve been trying some different ones out, I used the MUA one for a while before switching between that and the one in the Sleek palette that comes with a bronzer and blush. Since I have tried some high end ones starting with the Urban Decay one which I wasn’t a huge fan off because it was literally just glitter and barely even showed up on your face.
Having brought the Jefree Star Liquid Lipsticks and having really loved the products, I decided to try the highlighter. I purchased it in Princess Cut because it really stood out to me and a lot of the reviews I read had used Princess Cut as well.
I was not disappointed by this at all. Its huge, like literally bigger than the palm of my hand by a bit (I have really small hands so I’d say its about palm size give or take a bit) and it is so so gorgeous!! I apply this with a Spectrum fan brush and I find that its really build able and isn’t overly pigmented. Its pigmented enough that fine brushed pick up product but not the point that its too much and you have to knock some off the brush before applying.
I personally like my highlight to be bright but not over the top like some people so somewhere in the middle. I find that with two layers you get a really gentle shine thats noticeable in light but not out of light, so perfect if you prefer a more subtle highlight. I tend to put four to five layers on because I like it to really glow when the light hits it. This is my go to highlight and I am in total love with this product. I’m looking at getting another one in another shade as well as some of this other products like the eye shadow palette.
I’ve seen a lot of people who use subscriptions to online websites that send you make up samples but I’ve never really decided if it was worth it or not. Recently I decided to give it a go and signed up to Birchbox and recently got my first order through.
The box that I got with all the make up is such a nice box, its sturdy and really pretty, perfect size to store make up so I am going to be keeping hold of these boxes to put my make up into because I think they will stack really nicely as well and dont take up too much space.
The amount that you get in this box is definitely worth the £10, I got a full sized Spectrum C06 brush in rose gold, a Show Premiere finishing spray, a Smith & Cult lipgloss in the shade Diary of a Beauty Junkie, Beaver daily moisturising conditioning spray and an eyeshadow trio from Pop beauty called Champagne Mocha. As well as these I also got a Keeome hydration therapy mask which I am so excited to use!
So far I’ve only used the lipgloss which was a nice neutral light brown shade. The colour isn’t very vibrant but is very glossy, its also a tiny bit sticky but not to the point its horrible to wear, its a very thick lipgloss but feels really moisturising on your lips.
As well as these I also got a 25% off discount voucher for Papier which I am going to use to buy some notebooks for university in September. I think this box is totally worth the money and I’m so glad that I subscribed!
Since my last skin care routine post I have changed the products that I have been using and started to see a really good change in my skin. I’ve been planning this post for a while but I wanted to make sure I had a strong opinion of these products before I reviewed them and updated my routine.
I now use The Body Shop tea tree face wash, toner and scrub as well as the charcoal face mask. I found these are really nice products that don’t feel harsh on your skin and I love that the scrub can also be used as a face mask which you only leave on for five minutes, perfect for a quick night mask on a busy evening if you don’t have time every night to put a fifteen minute face mask on.
I usually start by taking my make up off with a make up wipe or a cleansing wipe, before using the face wash to remove any remaining make up and dirt. I then use the scrub and depending on my mood, I’ll either leave it on for five minutes then scrub it off or I’ll just scrub my face and wash it off. After this I pat my face dry with a towel and use a cotton pad to apply the toner. For a moisturiser I use the Simple oil balancing moisturiser.
This skin routine has currently worked wonders for me and my skin has cleared up amazingly. I do this every night, sometimes using the charcoal mask in place of the scrub.

I’ve been wanting to get some more lip products for a while having been using the same few MAC lipsticks. I also wanted to try some different products that people have been raving about, so I looked into Kylie Lipkits and was set on getting one or two until I saw how much it costs to get them over here in the UK because of customs, and I can’t justify spending £40 on a lipkit right now so I went for a different option and had a look on BeautyBay for Jefree Star liquid lipsticks because I know their well reviewed.
The three shades that I purchased was No Tea No Shade which is a metallic colour, Androgyny a purple-ish shade with grey undertones and Unicorn Blood a dark red with some brown undertones. So far I’ve used Androgyny twice and tested the other two but not worn them for a day, but from the Androgyny shade that I used, I can see why everyone raves about them.
The applicators nice and easy giving a smooth and even coverage that matts out in about ten seconds depending how thick you layer it. I tested this on a day that I went out with my boyfriend shopping and for lunch and it’s flawless. Lasted the whole day and I only re-applied it once because it was starting to fade a little bit in the middle after I’d had a coffee. But it wasn’t a noticeable fade and didn’t really need touching up but I did it anyway. I found this is a really durable liquid lipstick that is really tough and stays on for a long period of time as well as through eating and drinking, in fact its taking it off that I find a bit tougher, you have to use a made up wipe or something similar to get it off your lips, but it does leave a slight stain so again if you over line your lips with this, it will stain the skin and will need a thin layer of foundation or concealer to cover it up if you want it gone. I also found it wears off middle outwards which in a way I find more helpful because then you don’t have to spend ages making sure the lines are perfect at the edge, you just put some more on the middle and you’re good to go.
I’m a hundred percent going to buy more of these when I next get paid because their amazing! I also want to try out some of his other products as well to see if their of a similar standard.
What would Christmas be with out Lush? It seems to be mandatory for bloggers and YouTubers to do a Lush haul, so not only am I doing a Lush haul, but I found another bath bomb brand that is less well known and will being doing a haul & review on their products soon. Either way lets get on with the Lush products that I did buy, I didn’t get that many, I only got four, but I have more coming from the other company.
The first one I got way the Father Christmas bath bomb. I’ve seen this one be reviewed so much that I thought I’d give it a go and see what I think. I really like the scent, its sweet but not in a sickly way. I find that some scents are too sickly but I think that once this is in the bath it will smell amazing! Its one that will definitely fill the bathroom and really get you into a cosy mood where you get into bed right after and watch a film or read a book.
The second one I got was the Santasaurus reusable bubble bar. I love the look of this one because I love dinosaurs, I don’t know why but anything with a dinosaur on is a must for me to buy, so when I saw this I knew I had to get it. I’ve never used a reusable bubble bar so I’m not too sure if I’m going to like it, but we will find out. I really like the smell of this one, its not a sweet scent and I dont know the official word for it but it smells deeper/darker like its not a sweet scent, its almost muskier?? I’m not really sure but it smells soooo good!
The third one I brought was the Snowie bubble bar. When it turned up it was a little chipped and missing an eye, but its no biggie cos I’m gonna crush it anyway. I like the faint glitter/shine in it, I’m really excited to use this bubble bar and may use it tonight then review it for you guys tomorrow, but either way its really cute and is again one of my favourite scents, its muskier (again not sure if that the right word but we’re gonna go with it) and looks really cute, even missing an eye.
The last one I got was the Christmas Penguin bubble bar, again totally excited to use this and purely because it was a penguin, I felt the need to buy it. Its really cute and I like how it’s in a cone shape, its kinda cute… I’m not too sure on the scent but I’m hoping its one of those that smells a thousand times better in the bath.
Sorry blogmas kinda failed straight away, but I’ve been mega busy and haven’t had much time to plan them that well, but I’m still gonna try and do it!
