Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine

I brought this book a few months ago and didn’t around to properly reading it until recently, and I have to say, its one of the best books I’ve read in a while! When I first started reading it I struggled to get into it, but I persevered and I’m so so glad I did.

It clear from the start that there are some underlying problems for Eleanor and theres not much in the way of hints apart from her mum who you get the feeling plays a big role in how Eleanor is as a person. The further into the book you get the more unexpected turns it takes. It really makes you evaluate a lot of things and you feel so many emotions through out the book. With out giving away too many spoilers, you really get the sense of how being a good friend isn’t always being the one to fix things, but just being there for them to cry to when they need. Its a book full of emotions and really helps to show that having a mental illness such as depression isn’t something to be embarrassed about and that talking to someone and taking things at your own pace can really help you regain control of things.

This is a definite recommended read!

Small NewLook Haul

Today was a bit of a lazy day, so myself and my boyfriend went out to get a Starbucks and then decided to take a wander around some of the shops near by. We went into NewLook because I wanted to look at getting another skirt because I have one that I love and pretty much live in, and since this heatwave looks set to stay, I wanted to kit out with another to give myself a few more options.

There wasn’t a whole lot to choose from and I actually only found one skirt and no shorts which was a bit disappointing, but this one skirt I found will work well with a lot of outfits so its a good starting point. I also picked up a jumper that I liked that I can wear in the evening when it cools off a bit as well as into the autumn/winter time as well.

I also found a mug that looks super cute so I picked it up, it says Just Renewed my Gin Membership on it, which I thought was kinda funny.
